Task Force Status: Reassembled task force achieved sponsorship and The Music Therapist Licensing Act was filed in both the General Assembly and Senate in 2015 as A4353 and S2971 respectively. Hill Day organized in June 2015 generated 17 additional sponsors. A4353 was released from committee in 2015; but legislative session ended before further action. Re-introduced in 2016 as A783 the bill released from Regulated Professions Committee February 4, 2016 and passed General Assembly November 21, 2016. Senate Hill Day held August 1, 2016 and re-introduced Senate bill S1601 released from Senate Commerce Committee and referred to Budget and Appropriations Committee September 26, 2016. S1601 like A783 enjoys bi-partisan support and has 8 sponsors. Awaiting final committee hearing with Senate vote to follow upon release.
